In the spring/summer catwalk shows, designers were soaking up the outlandish glamour by tying it together with in-you-face garments and over the top accessories. There was tortoiseshell print at Rodarte, Swarovski crystals at Giles, studs at Marc Jacobs and nails adorned with ionic LV logos at Louis Vuitton. Whatever your fancy, go ahead and nail it.
Black eyeliner is a timeless essential that never goes out of style, and this season it’s best done with a rebellious flair and sultry twist. Forget retro. Follow the likes of Versace and Erdem for a gritty look that’s lashed in drama – best applied smoky and directly under the water line.
According to Chloé, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and Miu Miu, gone are the days where big-bouncy hair is your go-to style. Instead brush-up on your straightening skills, in opt for poker polished locks. Pun intended.
For those who are feeling particularly brave, why not take the style one step further by sleeking hair close to the scalp as seen at Marc by Marc Jacobs, Valentino and Prabal Gurung. Now that’s a look that’s sure to wow.
The title says it all, while Milan and Paris opted for subdued coloured lips this spring, that didn’t stop New York and London from proving that their the hub of creativity with bright, matte lips that gave an ever-desired punch to the quirkiest of outfits.
At Altuzarra and Rag & Bone, the trademark hue was orange with shades of brash ‘Tangerine’ and bold ‘Ginger’, where as House of Holland was opting for a patriotic feel with an iconic Scarlett pout.
Pierced with a rosy glow, that’s the trademark of the season, bronzer should be your new best-friend. Ideal for creating those model-worthy cheekbones Topshop Unique and Michael Kors went for a standout complexion with enhanced colouring and a shimmery highlighter.
Fellow design gurus Jason Wu and Christian Dior also used the product to enhance the eyes with melodramatic lids and golden brows.
