Most of us put ‘get healthy’, ‘eat clean’ or ‘loose weight’ in their New Year Resolustions every other year. But how long do we stick to them?
“A lot of women believe they need to change everything, but in reality small tweaks to your diet can make a huge difference,” Dawn Jackson Blatner, a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association, told Fitness Magazine.
There are a few simple habits anyone can incorporate to their everyday routine to live a healthier lifestyle.
Start your day with a glass of water
Drinking a glass of water (with a slice of lime or lemon) will improve your skin and help you get energized and hydrated.
“Think of water as a nutrient your body needs that is present in liquids, plain water, and foods. All of these are essential daily to replace the large amounts of water lost each day,” says Joan Koelemay, RD, dietitian for the Beverage Institute.
Constant exercise is vital to stay healthy. If you are not into gymming, try a group fitness class or swimming. Start small and enjoy what you are doing.
Find time for tech-detox
Small bungalows in Indonesian islands, living in Buddhist monasteries, hitchhiking to India… ?
Or perhaps simply spending an evening without internet and walking around city.
Get a good night’s sleep
A little extra sleep can improve your health a lot. Teach yourself to wake up without an alarm, sleep for at least 7 hour in well ventilated room, walk more and do not eat on the go.
