The cities we can visit again and again…

Traveling is our passion. Packing a suitcase, getting in a cab, rushing to airport, being carried away watching the clouds, and of course that feeling of landing somewhere new. Trying local cuisine, hearing the conversations of the locals, diving into clear waters, falling in love with sunsets, taking photos of iconic Empire State building, Colosseum or yet another gorgeous beach in Mediterranean. That’s when we feel alive. And sometimes it doesn’t even matter whether you’re in that city for leisure or work. Because discovering a new world – is always exciting!

There are cities that you’re supposed to fall in love with, that you’re supposed to dream of visiting over and over again. And today we’ve decided to share with you the cities we love going back to, again and again..

Amsterdam. Bikes, canals, tulips, cute cafes, gingerbread streets, sandwiches for lunch, herring, crowds of smokey tourists… Mums carrying the kids in the baskets, on the back of their bikes. At a first glance you might think it’s all very ‘unorganised’ but this is far from being true. The locals have mastered the art of living a balanced life in the city where it feels like everything is possible. We also love how the Dutch love having their windows open, as if telling the world they have no secrets. Well, of course there are  – but who cares.

Life  in Amsterdam revolves around the canals and wandering around these always gives us a real feel for this laid-back and uber cool city.If we had to pick one word to describe this city, it would be a freedom. They say, ‘Doing what you like is freedom, liking what you do is happiness’.

Paris. We’ll be honest here. It wasn’t a love at first sight. We visited Paris on a gloomy, cold winter weekend a couple of years ago. And couldn’t understand all those people raving about it; all those girls dreaming about romantic honeymoons and surprise trips. It took us a few more visits to fall in love with Paris; each time with different people and for different occasions. But oh-la-la, now it’s a serious affair.

Why? Picnic under the Eiffel Tower, fresh croissants, street musicians. It’s in the very bones of the place; with its beautiful boulevards and stunning architecture it is one of the most visually stunning places on Earth. But it’s also in the people and their joie-de-vivre.

Stockholm. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Postcard perfect old town, picturesque parks and canals, world class restaurants, shops filled with amazing Swedish designed clothes, furniture and more. Not to mention how beautiful the Swedish people are.

Södermalm, Stockholm

There’s a Scandinavian style laid backness about this city. It’s all done in a nice, calm, and mellow way. And people take their time to enjoy life.

Rome. Truth be told, a lifetime isn’t enough to visit Rome because there’s just so much to see and do. Having said that, spending a few days in Rome is a great way to stock-up on history, culture and a vibrant atmosphere.

An absolutely unmissable attraction in Rome is the Colosseum and the nearby Roman Forum and Arch of Constantine. Seeing the Colosseum from a distance is impressive, and when it is illuminated at night the view is simply stunning!

They say that there is someone for everyone out there. Same goes for cities. These are our picks – keep exploring until you find yours.

Over to you: What city rocks your world and why?
